Welcome!

Evanston, a community of 80,000 is situated along the shores of Lake Michigan, adjoining Chicago on the North. It is a community that is world-famed for its beautiful homes, churches, towering elm trees, schools and colleges-and the world headquarters of Rotary International, making the Rotary Club of Evanston the "Home" club. We are also proud to include R.I. President Wilfrid J. Wilkinson as a resident of our city.

Twenty-four business and professional men of the community became charter members of the Rotary Club of Evanston in 1920. The club membership now totals about 140. The club has been host to three district conferences, sponsored the organization of two Rotary clubs, and has been represented at every international convention since the club was organized. Several members played a major role in the design, construction and landscaping of the headquarters building of Rotary International.

The club is especially active in youth work through its activities with Evanston High School students, the Boy Scouts, YMCA and other youth organizations. An active program of International Service embraces not only the sponsorship of the Rotary Foundation and District Scholarship students, but includes contact with more than 250 other foreign students attending Northwestern University each year. The Club or its individual members are active in all of the many civic and community projects in Evanston.
